After a close victory over Manchester United, Chelsea is only two wins short
of claiming yet again the premier league title.
Jose Mourinho’s men finished their 14th match unbeaten in all competitions thanks to Hazard’s goal and have moved 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal.
Wayne Rooney was moved to midfield and missed an early chance to open the scoring when he fired into the side-netting after three minutes, Radamel Falcao also struck the woodwork and wasted Manchester’s opportunity to move into the second position above Arsenal.
With this victory Chelsea only needs six points to win the league and have six matches to get them, Mourinho’s men are already celebrating because they know that nothing can stop them from wining the title this season.
Goalkeeper David De Gea joined Manchester’s fans in celebrating a goal until they realized that Rooney’s shot hit the side-netting.
Hazard took the first chance that came his way and opened the scoring just 8 minutes before the break.
Falcao was bundled off the ball on halfway line by John Terry, and Hazard after receiving the ball by a clever back-heel from Oscar fires between De Gea’s legs.
Drogba almost doubled Chelsea’s score in the beginning of the second half when his shot was deflected over De Gea, and then Hazard tried but failed to complete the job at the far post.
